Final Week!
We’ve made it to the final week of the spring semester and last two lessons in Comp Sci 364! A lot has changed since we first met on 7 January, and I’m sure that all of us are looking forward to a break.
With all that you have going on across your various classes, I wanted to give you a checklist of sorts for this last week. It isn’t exhaustive (e.g., the checklist does not include all the learning activities for today and Thursday’s lessons), but I hope that it will be useful so you don’t lose track of anything that’s due.
- Complete the course evaluation if you have not already done so. I make substantive changes to courses based on feedback from students – your comments really matter!
- Check your grades in Blackboard, including points awarded for extra credit. With the exception of late submissions and assignments due this week, all grades are posted in Blackboard. Contact me if you have any questions.
- Complete the development of the project’s web application. By Thursday you should have implemented all the functionality outlined in your proposal.
- Record a short video to demonstrate your project and post it in your section’s discussion forum. Teams with members in multiple sections should post their video multiple times, once for each section represented on the team.
- Complete the peer evaluation for each member of your project team. There will be a stiff penalty for individuals who fail to submit the peer evaluation.
- Schedule a 30-minute meeting to demonstrate your project with me. This demonstration gives me a chance to ask questions before assigning your final project grade. This meeting must occur no later than next Wednesday, 27 May.
For the final project submission (i.e., the source code archive submitted to Blackboard) and peer evaluations, no late penalty will be assessed for submissions as long as they are before taps (2300 MDT) on Sunday, 24 May. Your presentation video must still be posted no later than this Thursday.
As always, contact me if you have any questions or concerns. Office hours will run as normal this week (i.e., today and Thursday), and I hope to have everything wrapped up for this course by next Thursday.
