A quick heads-up to let you know that I’ve posted project and final grades in Blackboard. Please look at your scores and let me know if you find any discrepancies or have any concerns today. I will be posting these “unofficial” grades in Q2i / CAMIS tomorrow, at which point changes become a huge pain.

After I graded all the projects, I realized that I harped on several items in class last year in the lessons leading up to the final project submission but failed to highlight those topics this year. Thus, I added 7.5 points to all the project scores to account for harsher grading than was probably warranted. For example, I spent 10 minutes in class last year talking about what makes a good project demo, and I didn’t post similar information on the course website this year. Consequently, the number of points assigned by the grading rubric for the project web application is 7.5 points lower than the score shown in the grade book.

I’ve also added a “Final Grade” entry that contains your final percentage and corresponding letter grade. This entry will be transferred to Q2i / CAMIS tomorrow and submitted for department head approval. Again, let me know if you have any questions as soon as possible so I can address them immediately.

Despite the many challenges that we’ve faced this semester, I am glad to have had each of you in Comp Sci 364: Databases and Applications. I wish you the best of luck as you continue your academic careers.

PS One final reminder to complete the course evaluation if you haven’t done so already. Some of the best changes to the courses that I teach have been the result of feedback from students.
